Rust Engineer

At Fiberplane, we’re building the first collaborative tool for infrastructure teams. Our first core product is Fiberplane Studio - collaborative notebooks for investigating and debugging infrastructure incidents. If you’re an experienced Rust developer who can help build our backend and API, becoming a Rust Engineer at Fiberplane might be right for you.

As a Rust Engineer, you will be instrumental in building an API that facilitates real-time communication and integrates with existing time-series databases and logging services.

You'll have the chance to join as an early member of a high-growth company creating a new category in the SRE landscape. You’ll be joining a dedicated team of engineers.

We previously created Wercker, a container-native CI/CD platform acquired by Oracle.

While Fiberplane is based in Amsterdam, remote work is possible and we are flexible on location around the CET timezone.

In this role you will

  • Contribute to, maintain and optimize our backend infrastructure and API's.

  • Architect scalable services to power our real-time collaborative layer.

  • Support the entire project lifecycle (inception, design, build, test, deploy and support).

  • Design, build and maintain Rust-based tools/libraries to help the internal team and external users to build on, debug, instrument and extend the Fiberplane platform.

You'll thrive in this role if

  • You have experience with the Rust programming language.

  • You have an understanding of Rust async stack and Tokio.

  • You have strong knowledge of data-structures and algorithms.

  • You're efficient at writing maintainable code.

  • You're big on documenting your work and your code.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containers is a big plus.

  • Understanding of DevOps and SRE practices is a big plus.

  • Experience with WebAssembly (WASM) is a big plus.

What we offer

  • Market rate salary.

  • Equity.

  • Open vacation policy + local public holidays + your birthday off.

  • Flexibility around work setup (your choice around remote work, in-office, or hybrid).

  • Equipment budget.

  • Unlimited book budget.

  • Open Source Budget.

  • Free access to psychological support.

  • An international team of smart, motivated and ambitious colleagues to work alongside you.
